Who We Are
We are the caretakers of Adagio Umbro, a private medieval villa estate located just 3 km from the historic center of Spoleto, in the heart of Umbria. Surrounded by gentle hills and forests, our villa offers a peaceful countryside setting just north of Rome — perfect for guests seeking relaxation, nature, and authentic Italian charm.
Adagio Umbro is a historical property with roots dating back to medieval times. In the 1980s, it was completely renovated by its first private owner, Stefano Tacconi, a well-known Italian football goalkeeper who played for Juventus and the national team. Tacconi envisioned the villa as an elegant retreat in the Umbrian hills.
In the 1990s, the estate passed to a local resident and sadly fell into neglect. Today, we are restoring the property with love and dedication, bringing it back to life and opening it to guests who appreciate quiet beauty, sustainability, and a deeper connection to place.
Adagio Umbro was founded to offer a secure, serene, and meaningful experience — a place where history, nature, and sport meet in harmony.
